chapter i -

Friixan, Penji and Nicco, the three founders, the creators, the friends. It all started with them: They wanted a career in Rocket League. Wanted to go pro, reach the sky, play with the best of the best. They made a Discord Server named Team Phoenix. It was a place just to have fun and share their memories. They sweated Rocket League, watched tutorials, grew up together, created bonds.

Time passed and they eventually opened the server to close friends. After a long time, Nicco went on doing something else, leaving Friixan and Penji alone without warning. They didn’t know what to do, how to continue, where to go. They tried looking for a tournament to play and came over Telialigaen. Because they didn't have a full squad, it wasn’t possible to participate.

Friixan made some clip videos here and there and posted them on TikTok. He fell in love with content creation and asked Penji if he wanted to do a Road to Grand Champion series with him. Sadly, Penji didn’t want to. The Discord Server was dead for a while, so Friixan decided to go all in on content creation. He started a Road to GC series and it blew up after the first episode. He gained hundreds, followed by a thousand followers and saw an opportunity.

After some research on how to improve the Discord Server, Friixan made more channels, added bots, made rules, information about the team and a logo. The Server began to take shape and they opened it to the world. Penji wasn't really paying attention in the Server, but still enjoyed playing Rocket League of course. There were around 20 members in the Server before the first people came from TikTok.

Friixan was the only one managing stuff in the server and needed a staff team as soon as possible. He received tips from a fellow friend, Tailor, which was super helpful and he became the first Moderator. André joined and he became the first Helper. The staff grew as more people joined the server. They decided to change the name to Team Numenius. André joined the team, and he, Friixan and Penji signed up for Telialigaen.

Because more and more people joined, they created two more teams, Team Numenius 2 and Numenius Freestyle. The team names were long and they named them TN1, TN2 and TN Freestyle instead. Friixan became the leader of the main team, TN1, André became the leader and player for TN2 and Tailor became the leader of TN Freestyle. With all the teams filled, TN2 signed up for Telialigaen as well. TN Freestyle didn’t do much except sharing incredible clips.

The staff started to host their own Tournaments in the Discord Server, both weekly and monthly. The Winners of each tournament got their own role in the Server and some Rocket League Credits. Clip of the Week and Preset of the Week became a beloved feature in the server which also gave you rewards.

Telialigaen finally began and the teams started playing in division 4, at the bottom of the league. Some weeks later, TikTok removed Friixan’s Discord link from his bio and the server stopped growing. This didn’t change the activity in the server, but rather made it difficult to achieve popularity. The staff team had a little chat that changed Team Numenius forever...

chapter ii -

With the foundation firmly laid and the teams in place, the staff team felt there was room for improvement within Team Numenius. They understood the importance of growth and innovation, especially in the fast-paced world of esports. As the content on Friixan’s TikTok continued to attract more followers, the Discord server experienced a surge in new members. But the staff knew that in order to stay competitive, they needed to adapt and evolve. The time for change had come.

The staff collectively decided to transform Team Numenius into something even greater—an organization known as Numenius Esports. This decision marked a turning point in their journey. Along with the name change, the teams themselves underwent a rebranding. TN1 became simply Team Numenius, TN2 took on the name Team Meridian, and TN Freestyle was reborn as Team Astria.

With the transformation underway, Numenius Esports began to invest in its infrastructure and offerings. A brand new website was in the final stages of development, alongside an exciting Minecraft SMP called Numenius SMP. But it didn't stop there; the Discord server received a much-needed overhaul. New channels, rules and information were introduced to enhance the overall experience. The introduction of a unique Tokens System brought an element of excitement, allowing members to earn tokens from leveling up and winning events, which they could then use to obtain Numenius items and even benefit from coaching sessions. This novel approach created a more engaging and fun environment, further fueling the server's growth.

As Numenius Esports continued to flourish, other esports organizations started to take notice. One of these potential collaborations was with a caster named Yota, who showed keen interest in the team. Although there were initial hiccups and confusion, Yota eventually became a cherished friend and future collaborator with Numenius Esports. Through Yota's connections, two other organizations, IKRN Relentless and Axis Esports, were brought into the mix. Together, they planned an ambitious Tournament called the Ultimate Summer Clash. This groundbreaking event marked the first significant collaboration for Numenius Esports and propelled them into a new realm of recognition and excitement.

With the website development in full swing, Numenius Merchandise was also in the works. This was a pivotal moment for Numenius Esports, as it opened up the potential for revenue generation - an essential step for any growing organization. The website's release was highly anticipated, but just as the team seemed to be riding high on the wave of success, a new challenge emerged.

The once-thriving Discord server experienced a decline in activity. Boost levels, an aspiration that had been achieved, began to wane as some members discontinued their boosts. It was a worrying trend, and Friixan issued an urgent announcement, notifying everyone that they were at risk of losing boost level 2. This rallying cry worked wonders, as members banded together to boost the server, ultimately elevating it to boost level 3. The discord server was even given a custom server link, further solidifying their status. However, the celebration was short-lived as Discord had birthday and gave out free nitro. This nitro only lasted for 2 weeks and the server went back and forth from boost level 2 and level 3.

One standout addition to the team was Arki, who got the role of Numenius Esports' first Content Manager. Under his guidance, new and exciting content finally started flowing, reigniting the enthusiasm of both existing and new members alike.

Then came a moment of uncertainty. Friixan sent out an announcement titled "Numenius Esports Changes," leaving curiosity about the future. He assured the community that Numenius Esports would “still exist”.

With these changes and developments, Numenius Esports was well on its way to carving its place in the competitive gaming world. But the journey was far from over. The next chapter would unfold with fresh challenges, opportunities and the promise of a bright and prosperous future for Numenius Esports. They decided to change. Again…
